THE FRATERNAL ORDER OF HANDYMEN

The Six Pillars

THE HANDYMEN CREED

PREAMBLE

We are handymen. We are builders, fixers, and finishers. We take up the tools our fathers took up, and we answer for the work we leave behind.

  1. IPILLAR 1

    Service

We believe in Service — that our hands and skills exist to serve others, to improve the spaces where people live, work, and gather. Through our work, we lift others up.

  2. IIPILLAR 2

    Skill

We honor Skill — that mastery is earned through practice, patience, and humility. We commit to learning, to doing work well, and to passing knowledge to those who follow. Excellence is our standard.

  3. IIIPILLAR 3

    Integrity

We stand on Integrity — that our word is our bond, our work speaks for itself, and we build trust with every nail, every joint, every honest estimate. We do what we promise, and we do it right.

  4. IVPILLAR 4

    People

We value People — that every client, every member, every person we meet deserves respect and care. We listen, we understand their needs, and we treat them as partners, not problems.

  5. VPILLAR 5

    Projects

We build Projects — that tangible work matters. What we create endures. We take pride in transforming vision into reality, in leaving spaces and structures better than we found them.

  6. VIPILLAR 6

    Purpose

We embrace Purpose — that our craft is more than a trade; it is a calling. We are keepers of skill, builders of community, and stewards of the places we inhabit.

These six pillars are the whole of the Creed. They are not amended, ranked, or held in part. A member takes them together or he does not take them at all.
